HVS Events (2015):
  • 19th - A Sunday with a Difference: EC Meet-n-Greet & HVS Members' Forum/Luncheon. The details are as follows: Date: Puja/Aarti : 10:00 am-10:45 am, EC Meet-n-Greet : 10:45 am - 11:05 am, EC Initiatives : 11:05 am - 11:15 am, Members' Forum/Listening Session (All): 11:15 am - 12:30 pm, EC-Sponsored Lunch (at hall): 12:30 pm - 1:30 pm. So, bring your ideas & perspectives, healthy appetites, and yes, check books. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact us.
  • 25th - Spring Mela (rain date Sunday, April 26th) - Time: 4:00 pm - 7:00 pm. Come one, come all to this wonderful event which allows us to celebrate and show-off our culture and heritage be it food, entertainment or dress. As always we encourage you to invite your friends, colleagues and neighbours to help us make this event a success. Remember this is a fund raiser for HVS and so it's success benefits us all.
  • 10th - Mother's Day Celebration and Nepal Earthquake Fundraiser - Puja will be from 10:30 am to 12:30pm, followed by HVS sponsored lunch.
  • 17th - Graduation - A small Puja will start at 10:30 am followed by recognition of the graduates.
  • 6th & 7th - You all are cordially invited to attend the unique sessions conducted by Swamiji Sri Ashwini Prajnaa. Swamiji will be in Baton Rouge to spread his knowledge in topics regarding Indian and Western Philosophy, Yoga Meditation, Personality Development and Holistic Health. Swamiji has been traveling all over world for the past 25 years at his free will to help people with Stress Management, Anger Management, Yoga, Meditation, etc. Please see the following program:
  • June 6th: 8:00 am to 10:00 am - Meditation yoga, 10:00 am to Noon - Stress Management
  • June 7th: 8:00 am to 10:00 am - Meditation yoga, 10:00 am to Noon - Anger Management.
  • 21st - To celebrate International Yoga Day as well as Father's Day, HVS will host a special event -- MEN NEED ZEN -- a yoga session from 8:00 to 9:00 am. Calling all dads! Come attend with your kids, young or younger! Teach your kids the importance of fitness. Please note that the event is open to all. For anyone over the age of 10 there will be a nominal charge of $5. Refreshments will be served between 9:00 am and 9:30 am.
  • 28th - Satyanarayan Puja - Puja will start at 10:30 am followed by lunch.
  • 12th - From 10am to 12pm - Puja (short version), Bhajans, and Aarti.
  • 19th - Sunderkand - Puja will start at 8:30 am followed by lunch.
  • 15th - Independence Day Celebration at 10.00 AM- Let's get together and celebrate Indian Independence. Please bring your family and friends and make it an event to remember for our younger generation. There will be a flag hoisting ceremony accompanied by some melodious notes and shared memories. More details to follow so please stay tuned
  • 6th - Krishna JanmAshtami Celebration. Puja will start at 9:30 AM followed by Krishna Janma, Nandostava and Mahaprasad. Feel free to bring offerings or prasad for Puja.
